How NOT to use your calculator - lesson learnt for L1
Now, I'm fairly comfortable with my HP calculator and quite fast at using the RPN function. But halfway through FRA in the PM section, I started getting thwarted. No matter how many times I redid the question, I could not get the exact answer. For the EPS question, I kept getting a whole number.
I was just so engrossed in the calculations and the paper that it was only 10 wasted minutes later that I realised that I had somehow, in my haste, set the number of decimal places to 0. Thus no matter how I tried I could not get any of the answers. Re-set decimal places to 5, and then wasted another 5 minutes going back to recheck my answers for those 2 pages.
Just wanted to share this experience with everyone. I think this should be added to the list of "Things NOT to do during the exam"... |
