Congrats to all who passed Level III!! I am in the same boat and have been on cloud 9 since Monday. Now I am wondering what to do next so I thought I’d come here for some advice.
I'm 28 yrs old. I am already a regular member so I am just waiting for CFAI to award us the charter. I have my undergrad in finance with minors in econ and stat. I've spent my career in portfolio mgmt (excluding a 1 yr mistake in compliance which I hated). My initial job out of college gave me good experience but was entry level so it involved a lot of operations. My job now gives me a lot of responsibility - mainly in mutual fund due diligence. But, I have no mentor here. I am our 'research' dept. While I like the freedom, I think I need someone to learn from. I've always worked for small firms - 1st for a boutique large cap manager, and now for a community bank in the wealth mgmt department. My job is not going to do anything for me, and I can't move up. Since I’m fairly young, single (lost 2 bfs while studying!), and have no kids, I have the opportunity to do whatever I want. I just need to figure out what that is. Since I am not tied down, I am interested in relocating (I'm on the east coast now, but not in NYC). I can do 3 things - get my MBA, MS in Finance, or look elsewhere for a job. I'm not sure if it would be worth it for me to get my MBA. I'm worried that an MS in Finance would duplicate what I've done. And I know the job market is tough. I was wondering if anyone knew any MBA programs geared towards invt mgmt, or if anyone has an opinion on a masters in finance. I’ve also thought about getting my masters in Statistics. Any input would be helpful! Like I said, I have no mentor here. I think I’ve established a strong base for my career and I am excited to move forward. Unfortunately, I am not sure what my next step should be.

MBAs - Wharton, Chicago, NYU Stern, Columbia
