Madoff SPED away with cash and investments

interest, common, equity, saying
that’s my way of remembering Enterprise Value.
EV = MV(common stock) + MV(preferred equity) + MV( debt ) + minority interest - cash&investments
M - minority interest
S - stock
PE - preferred equity
D - debt
away with - my way of saying minus
M sped away with cash and investments.

EV is what you have to pay to buy a company
this is that same thing as (assets - cash) or market value + debt
