Marketable securities Quick question

Are marketable securities always a current asset, what do you guys think?
Purchase/sale of marketable securities may be considered operating or investing activities depending of whether they are held for trading purposes or not.
But is a 10yr Treasury bond a current asset? If it is held for trading purposes it should be a current asset. But in other instances, should it be classified as a current asset? The curriculum does not seem to make a distinction and seems to include marketable securities under current assets. Any comments?
Thanks

I think you are right, I would classify it as a current asset as it can be quickly converted to cash even though there may not be an explicit intension to trade them within 12 months.
