Why the pass/fail matters?

I guess my simple point is:if you are committed to investment career path, you should put in more efforts in understanding these basic concepts and principles rather than the pass/fail mark.
The exam is testing some complicated rules - the real world just gets much simpler than this. You may not need to use everything you learn in the curriculum, but it is similar to the fact that you do not need to be a master in every subject such as equities, bonds, derivatives in real world of trading. However, what I found interesting is all of them are connected by some basic investment rules or principles.
The question I always asked myself (or remind myself) when I prepared my exams was: what do I want to learn out of this study? Is this what you will be interested in pursuing for the rest of your life? What we do is to simplify things. And simplification starts right at this moment: what you want to do and make sure your goal is achieved!
