Room for calcs on exam paper? separate, question, multiple, problem

This question is for re-takers...

If I use a pen on the exam, I'm afraid I may not have enough room on the exam paper to cross out and re-do formulas/calculations (I'm thinking my swap/futures calcs here). Do you think this can be a problem or does the CFA give you enough space for multiple iterations if needed?

Also, are the exam questions and written answer sheets in the same book or separate books?
