Trouble with end of chapter Qs understand, sometimes, remember

I am working my way through Quant and really struggling with some of the end of chapter questions. Usually the problem is that I can't remember the formulas but sometimes it's more than just that. Is anyone else finding the end of chapter (both CFAI and Schweser) tough even after a thourough reading of the Schweser material? What is your recommendation - should I consult the back of the books to see how to answer the questions I don't know how to answer, understand the process and then move on to the next reading or not move on until I know how to do each end of chapter question and get them all right? Thanks

I am doing ok, I usually find that I get most wrong because of rounding error/stupid mistakes/(i know this is stupid) order of operations.

However, the first 10 are usually doable and the last 5-10 are look in the back of the book, questions.
