FRA on exam: Problem-heavy?

I am almost done with SS9 in FRA and I've found that lot of the Schweser Qbank LOS/reading quizzes have been very calculation heavy, some that take 3-4 minutes even when you know exactly how to do it.

How are the problems on the actual Level I exam? Are they more qualitative or quantitative for all of FRA?

CFAI wants you to demonstrate your mastery of the material and is therefore not particularly interested in having you spend time on calculations needlessly.

Qualitative questions will require a working knowledge of related calculations. For quantitative questions, nearly all of the inputs will be provided, in addition to totally irrelevant data to confuse unprepared candidates.

A common tactic for quantitative questions to to supply an input that must be transformed or translated before it can be used. Some essential inputs will be ommitted but can be calculated quickly based on other supplied information.

Your Schweser practice questions and CFAI end-of-chapter questions are more time consuming than real exam questions but are invaluable for gaining the depth of knowledge necessary to pass the exams.

Good luck!
