Can someone clarify the exact formula.

I have see it three ways...

1) mkt debt + mkt equity - cash (and shor term)
2) mkt debt + mkt equity - cash (and shor term) - preferred
3) mkt debt + mkt equity - cash (and shor term) + preferred

What I know is

Mkt Debt + Mkt Equity - cash - short term investments

Smuggy - I misread the definition... It went on to talk about something else with respect to Pref.
