Only one i spent time on is real estate. NAREIT vs NCREIF. Specifically the shortcomings of NCREIF for direct RE investments (based on appraisal values, can be stale, smoothing of returns, lower apparent risk/stnd dev). Can be good for comping large institutional RE holdings
NAREIT is a good index for indirect/reit investments as its based on market trading values. |
