GIPS referring, exactly, memory, people

When people say to "know GIPS," what exactly are they referring to? Does that mean the section on it in the CFA books over and over again? What exactly do we need to know and commit to memory?

what does GIPS compliant means, who can say that the company is GIPS compliants, how can a company achieve GIPS compliant etc

I read through the Ethics (CFAI) section a few weeks ago, did the CFAI questions and the Schweser questions. Should I read the Schweser Ethics section as well, for extra review or just do some more questions? I am scoring pretty decent in Ethics.

I am scoring in the high 70s (on the CFAI Mock) and in the 75-85 range for ethics on QBank.
