F2常见问题(FAQ)

1. Are there any differences between the types of questions on the F2 paper-based exam and the computer-based exam (CBE)?
On the paper-based exam, all 50 questions are multiple choice. The 40 two-mark questions will each have a choice of 4 answers (A, B, C and D), whilst the 10 one-mark questions will each have a choice of only 2 or 3 answers (A and B, or A, B and C). The CBE has the same number of questions and uses objective testing. Multiple choice is just one form of objective testing. On the CBE, the candidate can expect to encounter ‘number entry’ and ‘multiple response’ questions, as well as multiple choice questions.

2. Will every F2 exam cover the whole syllabus?
As there are 50 questions on each exam there is plenty of scope for the examiner to ensure that the whole syllabus is tested in every paper-based exam and every CBE. Students are advised to study the whole syllabus in their preparation for sitting the F2 exam.

3. There are six sections in the F2 Study Guide, is each one of equal importance as far as the exam is concerned?
The six sections are not represented by equal numbers of questions (or marks) in the exam. The advice to students is to analyse the F2 pilot paper to identify how many of the questions (and marks) relate to each Study Guide section. The examiner has confirmed that for the exams set up to and including December 2009, the weighting of the Study Guide sections will remain very close to that within the pilot paper.
