CFAI chapter Qs vs. Schweser

Excluding the Schweser exam books,
for anyone who has done the CFA end of chapter questions as well as the Schweser Package…… which is harder?
I’m a little curious what I’ve missed with Schweser as I used CFAI exclusively for Level 3.

Yeah not much of a comparison - the CFAI EOCs are much more thorough and challenging. But I still think Schweser covers most of this stuff pretty well.

ya i’m still not sure if i did the right thing by reading every single page of the CFAI. Getting through all that material was absoultely brutal but in hindsight, after going through once, I was able to review everything the second time through by skipping the fluff. I found the material in many cases to be almost like reading research papers. They make their point on page 1, and then go through page 2 and 3 doing nothing more than supporting their point going back to 15th century!
Gotta hand it to schweser for getting to the point, but i think schweser is a little to high level (albeit they claim to teach you what you need to know to pass the exam and nothing more). I used schweser exclusively for L1 and L2, but dont want to leaving anythign to chance this year.
I Figure if John Doe is going to give me a pop quiz, i might as well read John Doe’s study notes. Who knows though….Guess we’ll find out soon enough!

I’m dissapointed about EOC CFAI.
They are too difficult compared to exam and DONT cover much stuff

Bacaladitos,
You know, I’m coming around to this point of view. With the time we have left, I think the EOC are only worth a glancing over. You get to deep in the weeds in too few topics for it to have a meaningful impact here. I think there are better uses of time now.

not sure how much they miss. i have done all the schweser difficult ‘s and most the cfai. i gotta say cfai is much better.

I don’t agree that they miss material.
What is the basis for claiming that the CFAI EOC questions omit certain material? Most likely this is a claim based on comparison to the Schweser Q bank or Concept Checkers or Practice Exams. All of those are certainly much more broad. But I’m afraid they go into many topics that are not going to be tested. Just because Schweser covers something doesn’t mean it SHOULD be covered!
The only real comparison would be to the exam itself And we have at least the AM sections for the past three or more years.
Comparing the EOC questions to those seems most fair and I think the CFAI EOC questions hold up quite well accordingly.
