2012 Level III Mock - Q37 and Q38

whereas, 2012
Why does the answer to #37 assume cash duration of 0.25 whereas the answer to #38 assumes cash duration of zero? Seems inconsistent, no?

cash duration of .25 = use this for duration of bonds
you are reducing BETA of stock to zero, not to .25 duration
