QUICK calculation question

hello.  lets say I have a 3 quarter return figure of 5%, and then the 1 year figure of 7% comes out. What is the calculation that will show what the Q4 figure was ?

Is 5% the return for all three quarters, or did you make 5% every quarter for three quarters?

Make sure the 5% number is not an annualized number. If it is annualized, you would have to adjust it first.
