CFA Institute- Approved- Defer Activation? activate, approved, frame, decide, before

Right before the test I submitted my application to join CFAI. I was just approved and need to activate. Just wondering- is there a time frame by which I must activate? I feel pretty good about the test, but can I wait until August 6th to decide if I’m going to activate, or must I do it before then?

If your employer is footing the bill for membership and you don’t need to shell out the cash, I would suggest doing it now before the rush comes in early August. There’s no telling what kind of hold up there could be once results are released.

I had the same question. My employer is stingy and in the end would do it, but my boss would look at me like I am some kind of moron since our budget is picked over with a fine tooth comb and he hates spending money on stuff like this.
I think I will send in the application, get it approved, and then do it asap on August 6th (god willing).
