Retake in Dec 2013 something, failed, should, taking, things

I am a failed candidate from June 2012 Level 1.I failed in band 5.
I got busy with other things and couldn’t take Dec 2012/June 2013.
Needless to say that the fees were wasted the 1st time I took the test.
Is it worth taking the test again in Dec 2013 or I’m too late.
Or still worse, I should drop the idea altogether and pursue something else.
Appreciate your help.

Depends on many factors mate:
1. Why do you want to get the charter in the first place? Is it to enter finance world?? Then drop the idea right now and my advice for you is to go and do an MBA from a good college.
2. Does having the CFA charter help you in your job? If it helps, failing a level once is not a crime. You should prepare well and write the exam again. July to December is good enough time to prepare especially since you know most of the syllabus now.

1) yes. I am planning to switch to finance sector.
I just have appeared for my MBA finals. I want the CFA as an additional qualification, since I am over 33 to change my career and just 1 qualification won’t be enough in getting employment.
2) I think having an additional qualification would be helpful. I know failing is not a crime especially since I am aiming for a tough exam with no prior work experience.
But I want to take the exam. I am just figuring out if Dec is good or should I wait longer and plan for next June 2014.
Or does the idea seem too much given my age etc..
