[CFA入门] 请教关于nonrefundable bonds的问题 issue, using

notes L1 Page 15:上写Nonrefundable bonds prohibit the call of an issue using the proceeds fromm a lower coupon bond issue.

请问这句话究竟该怎么理解啊?既然prohibit the call of ...为什么后面一句又说,thus, a bond may be callable bu not refundable??

Nonrefundable bonds 可以提前赎回，也就是recall，但是不能用发行新的利率更低的新债券所得资金去recall这个Nonrefundable bonds 。不知道这样说你明白了么。

我举个例子吧。。。

比如一个bond是callable的，那公司要如何call回这个bond呢？ 一是可以用公司的流动资金，二就是可以发行一个新的bond，然后用这个新发行的bond带来的资金来call回之前的那个callable bond.  而nonrefundable bond就是指不能利用第二种方法来call回这个bond，而只能是第一种。 所以一个bond可以是nonrefundable但是同时callable, 只要不是用新发行的bond带来的资金就行。

现在再来看看这句话。。。Nonrefundable bonds prohibit the call of an issue using the proceeds fromm a lower coupon bond issue.

那可以发行一份COUPON RATE 比较高的BOND 来收回么？

A company may refund the debt as long as they do not issue cheaper debt to do so. 发行一份coupon rate比较高的bond应该是可以call的
