How to Find a Sponsor for Your Membership Application
The CFA membership applicants are required to obtain two sponsors, one regular member of CFA Institute and the applicant’s supervisor. One of whom must be a member of the society to which the individual is making application for membership. If the supervisor requirement cannot be met because the applicant is the principal of the firm, a student, retired, self-employed, or if providing a supervisor sponsor places the applicant in a difficult professional position, then an additional sponsorship by a regular CFA Institute member is required.
Step by step instructions on how to submit the sponsor forms online will be sent via email once your application has been submitted.
A good way to meet a sponsor is to attend a member event held by CFA China - visit www.cfainstitute.org/cfachina for a listing of upcoming events. In addition, applicants are strongly encouraged to check with your colleagues or business neighbors to find a CFA Charterholder or someone who knows a CFA Charterholder. With more than 1,600 members in China, you're sure to find a sponsor for your application.
Otherwise, please contact the Membership Committee for your sponsorship request at cfachina@cfainstitute.org along with the following information/ documents:
1. CFA Institute ID 2. Resume including detail of job functions 3. Reference letter on work experience 4. Contact information of the Reference.
We will try our best to help you locate a sponsor. However, CFA China is unable to guarantee sponsorship for any applicant.
