just called the CFAI, you can't sign up for LII until you pass LI, but you can buy the materials for LII on cfabookstore.com. However, they told me they discourage this because when you sign up for LII, you will get the materials (then you'll have two copies). For some, it might be worth the $300 to get started right now. I can't imagine only starting for LII at the beginning of February. That would leave only 4 months. I suggest everyone at least start skimming through the LII material while they wait for their LI results. Just so you know what to expect in terms of difficulty.
I am sure everyone is aware of the fact that 2 is like a billion and a half times harder than 1 but it doesn't hurt to at least look at the material. Start a light preparation until Jan 27th otherwise even if you pass L1, you will have a tough time studying for L2 and then end up failing.

I couldn't take it anymore...
Started to study Quant last night using 2008 schweser (making sure LOSs are the same). Going to just take it slow and try to finish Quant and Econ by the time test results come out.
Econ finally gets into the more interesting stuff. Even though it looks like I've learned all of it in college, it'll be a nice refresher.
