I just want to confirm that when calculating the return on margin accounts, the dealers commission is subtracted from the numerator for the SALE and added to the denominator for the PURCHASE?

I think that Elan originally goofed up on this - and they just sent some errata yesterday for their mocks.
They originally included both the SALE and PURCHASE in the numerator...which I assume is now (and probably always has been) the WRONG way to do things.

Yup they made a mistake on that one. There is a similar example in the curriculum.
Purchase commission is added to the denominator
Sale commission is deducted from numerator
