You could start by writing comprehensible English. I don't think that would get you past L3.
I wouldn't start studying for L2 any later than mid January but, it all depends on your education, background, work exp, etc...If you can put in 300hrs from April to June then that works as well.

I'd say regardless of how many hours you can put in before the exam in a compressed time period, I would still start early. I believe slow and steady wins the race...
You will master the concepts by repetition over time, not by cramming. I think your brain needs time to absorb material, so studying 50 hours in a week is probably not as effective as studying 25 hours per week over a twice as long period...
I hope that makes sense... I plan to start in mid October...作者: MonkeyBusiness 时间: 2011-7-11 18:30
i work full time, and just took L2. I took L1 in december and started L2 studying in late january, after i got my l1 scores.
I have to say i felt pretty crunched for time. If i had 1 more month i would've felt alot better - if you start in Nov/Dec, you will have PLENTY of time.
Starting in January or February or even March would be fine if you don't have a full time job作者: kd26gioi 时间: 2011-7-11 18:30

Its very much comprehensible.. If u have trouble comprehending it, I suggest u start working on ur comprehending abilities as soon as possible or else ur going to get nowhere....作者: eagles_dare13 时间: 2011-7-11 18:30

I believe you will be appearing in Dec 2010 L1. I am in the same boat.
I am planning to take the Dec 2010 Level 1 exam.
I will start studying for Level 2 only after I get the Level 1 result in January. Don't want to start studying for L2 until I am sure that I passed L1.作者: invic 时间: 2011-7-11 18:30

I did five months but don't yet know whether it was enough yet.
I suspect it is less an issue of how long you study vs. how well you study. I was light on doing EOC questions and that may have been a dodgy strategy!作者: manasib 时间: 2011-7-11 18:30

I feel more prepared for level 2's curriculum from my Master's degree in Finance (MFin) than I did prior to studying for L1....so I'm hoping if I start this fall sometime, simply putting in a few hours here and there while working, will allow enough time (and of course, giver tork starting April or so)...
FSA will be my main focus (I'm assuming) since I always struggle with my confidence in accounting...
Fixed income, equity, derivatives and especially quant should be a review for me...
From what I heard from all the people who wrote L2 this month, the exam was much more difficult than they expected!
L1 was MUCH easier than I expected (almost disapointed that I studied as much as I did for it), but I'm going to work hard for L2 since I imagine the material will be more in-depth and will require actual thinking and problem solving...
