I've registered to write CFA level 1 in June 2010... is there any way to defer this to December 2010?
If so, what are the steps and what penalties (if any) would occur?
Thanks!作者: rgonzalez 时间: 2011-7-11 18:40
I don't think its possible to defer it. The penalty would be be the exam fee (around 500$).
Check the cfai website for deferrals.作者: Flok 时间: 2011-7-11 18:40

Not if you spend most of your time having to the other two things.作者: sgupta0827 时间: 2011-7-11 18:40
I'm in the Army and had to go away for a little while. I emailed them as soon as I found out when I was going and that I wasn't going to be back in June. Here's my response:
Mr. Lauritzen,
Thank you for contacting us. In light of your circumstances, I’ve authorized a cancellation of your June 2009 exam and a deferral of your fees to the December 2009 exam. A representative will follow up with you within 10 days to provide further instructions on registering for the December 2009 exam.
If your deferral is not finalized at the time exam tickets are available, you will have access to an on-line ticket for the exam. Since your deferral request is approved, you are not eligible to attend the exam. If you do attend the exam, your exam results will be voided.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Warm Regards,

So, it is possible. Just have a good enough reason.作者: ajpheif16 时间: 2011-7-11 18:40

Did you join the Army to get the deferral or were you already in the Army? Would joining the Army after you registered for the exam work? Is there anyway to get work experience in the Army approved for the charter?
