Hi all,
I have started my CFA Level 2 preparation jst 2 weeks back...before that I was busy with my college exams...I am done with Portfolio Mgmt, Fixed Income...and will complete Financial reporting in another weeks time. I m at my home till mid of may after that I will have to join my workplace.
I want opinion regarding schweser study material. What all topics can safely be covered from scheweser packages???....(for the rest I will try to stick to CFA Institute material).

First of all note this is the view of a fellow Level II candidate and not a Level III candidate.
Having read both CFAI and Schweser, I concluded that Schweser is good enough for all topics.
Yes there are extra things in CFAI books but so far I have not seen them tested in mocks. That does not meen they wont be tested on the exam, but even if they were I do not think they would make you or break you.
The TESTABLE material that is not covered by Schweser is maybe 1%.
I am acing the Schweser mocks, and most my studying is using Schweser. Now that is kind of biased cause they probably made the mocks according to their own materials.
I am going to take the CFAI mock soon, I will let you know.作者: llxx 时间: 2011-7-11 19:28
My study schedule:
Read flash cards of every topic (to see what I'm up against in brief summary)
Watch video instruction of every topic and/or listen to audio summaries (ipod/ipad)
Read all Schweser Secret Sauce
-- While reading, if there is something I don't fully "get", I google it and make sure I do.
(I'm at this point now)
Do/Read all EOC questions
Do a mock exam
Whatever subject I'm not happy with regarding my performance, I'll mark to do a more thorough review.
Last 4 weeks are dedicated to problems/mock exams, and rereading any topic are where I'm missing too many (easy) problems.
And, meanwhile, I read this site for questions and responses. The refreshers and perspectives are good.
