now that I have passed the level one, and am looking for a job in finance. what is the correct way to show my progress in the cfa program to a potential employer? does cfai give you any proof or certificate that proves that you passed?

Chartered Financial Analyst I (Charter pending)

That is blatantly incorrect. Did you fail ethics S.M?

I believe it would be (once you register) CFA Level II Candidate.

nickcee is right. CFA Level II Candidate after you register. The result page on the CFA site is the only thing u get.

CFA in you resume is like icing for a cake. If there is no cake, the icing is of not much use.

After you register for L2, it should be:

"Level II Candidate in the CFA Program"

I believe that's straight from the CFAI Text.

CFA in 2011 (I guarantee superior performance)

Do you guys think we can put our L1 score in the resume?

I'm repeating myself, but this stuff is all CLEARLY covered in ethics and anybody asking on *THIS* forum about how to write CFAI stuff on their resume deserves all the smart ass answers they get.

PS. I assume all wrong answers are jokes and so should you, so don't spoil them.

Does the CFA institute give you scores in SriLanka? They don't give us any in India!

^hells yeah. I am bumping up my scores to 95% in all sections since by definition I got greater than 70. Slapping it on the resume.

The proper way to put in India is:
Chartered Financial Analyst I (US, not ICFAI) (Passed at the first attempt, expect superior performance or your money back)

$tarving_Banker, CFA I, Superior Returns Guaranteed

Seriously, I believe the CFAI text has addressed this issue in ethics.

not gonna lie. i laughed at this thread.. cmon you can't have forgotten all your ethics already! nice responses tho.

The correct reference is: "Passed Level 1 of CFA examination in 2009".

I cant help asking this. At that time was there any 'Residual Income'? Meaning was the ROE> Cost of Equity or vice versa?

In order for you to have any RI in the long run, you almost need to maintain a monopoly. It's the same way in relationships.

I think the scales of datings start tipping against females, at least in the bay area, once you start this ROE examination. I certainly doesnt hit a breakeven for at least a month, and then only starts to pay residual income if you can get the gf away from eating at nice restaurants every week. Of course, residual income could also be seen as those late night visits randomly once you have broken up.......

Q: I have just passed Level I of the CFA program. How should I note this fact on my resume given that I have not enrolled for Level II but plan to do so soon?

A: Standard II A — Use of Professional Designation requires members to reference their membership in a dignified and judicious manner. CFA candidates may reference their participation in the CFA Program, but the reference must be true, clearly state that the individual is a candidate, and cannot imply the achievement of any partial designation. You must continue referencing Level I until you enroll to take the Level II exam. Pages 22 and 23 of the Standards of Practice Handbook (8th edition) provide examples you can use to reference your enrollment in the CFA Program. For example, you may state in your resume “Level I candidate in the CFA Program” or “Participated in Level I CFA Program examination June 2002” or “Took the CFA Level I exam on 1 June 2002.”

-----

This is what I have in mine (I have registered for Level 2 however):

CFA Level II Candidate: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute
