some concepts seem to be slightly different.
i know i should read the books if i have more time.
however, i just started my preparation for the exam.

This topic will bring endless debate. I think either is ok, even for L3, as long as you put in the time. I used Schweser only. However most people recommend that you supplement it with questions from CFAI.

If by "reading-challenged" you mean people who don't like to spend a lot of time reading CFA material, then you would be correct. I agree 100%, but knowing CFAI I would rather have the comfort of going through their material at least once and leave no stone unturned.
