Hi L3 candidates,

L2 candidate is here. I would like to know if 4 month of study is enough to pass L2 given 20-25 hr/week study time.

Thanks!

No, not enough time.

You can definitely make a good CFA charterholder!

Gambit: it all depends on your background, your other commitments and your motivation I guess

I'm in the same situation - waiting to get books from CFAI to follow the June gang

Worth trying it in both ways

That is all you could say, unfortunately..

unfortunately..................

More than enough time. I did it in 3. Just crank things up as needed to get the job done.

I would have thought that it's possible, if not ideal. It really depends on your background and how you study....

I started in mid-December (although I only really picked up pace by early January) and am currently right in the middle of my first read through the curriculum (taking fairly extensive notes along the way). My plan is to finish the curriculum (sans Ethics) by the end of February/mid March. This leaves me plenty of time (or so I hope) to actually study it all and learn to memorize it.

However, I know PLENTY of people who think that I am crazy for starting this early and are not even opening their books until mid-March/April. I couldn't do it, but I have a colleague who passed all 3 levels at her first attempt this way.

In the end, only you know how much time and effort you are willing and able to put in on a regular basis. You could study for 6 months, doing 8 hours a week, or 3 months doing 15+ hours a week...totally individual.

^^

not many people can take 5 weeks off to study unfortunately.

It's still multiple choice right?

I passed with 150 hours. Hours don't dictate it either, it's how much you can retain and your base of knowledge.

Of course it varies by individual, but 4 months isn't possible. I planned to begin studying this past weekend, but earnings season kicked my ass. In b-school, we all had roughly 20 days to study for our respective levels and did fine.

Anymore contributors please ...!

Thanks

I do believe you can do it but you really have to focus and put in the time.

My post should have said isn't "IMpossible". I'm starting this weekend and I'm shooting for 12 hours a week until the week before.

not enough time by a long shot...dont even try

4m @ 20-25hr per week. If you can stick to it, definitely doable.

If you lack the confidence to make this decision with the feedback, just quit now. You'll be sh!tying yourself on the first Eurodollar fwd question.

If you have to ask, then you already know the answer.
