I was about to say that I'm glad to be back on this forum after 2 years of absence, but I would be lying :-)
I have a quick question regarding study methods. I am physically incapable of reading the CFAI materials or even the Schweser materials for that matter - I fall asleep very quickly. The way I passed levels 1 and 2 is by solely reading the LOS concepts in Schweser's Qbank and doing a lot of exercises, including sample exams from CFAI and Schweser. I don't remember opening any other materials a single time.
Which leads me to my question: is it possible to apply the same method to level 3? How do people go around the essay question? Can I read a specific SS for the essay question and just do exercises for the rest?
Also, I read several times that Qbank was garbage for level 3 - is it substantially worse than Qbank for L1 and 2? Because I thougt it was decent for those levels. If it is garbage, which flash cards and questions database would you recommend to me, between Qbank, passmaster, Finquiz or others? (somebody else than Mitchells answer this question please :-) ).
Thanks a lot for all your insights.作者: aidebaobao 时间: 2011-7-13 16:38

I think for the majority of the test, as long as your method worked for levels 1 and 2, you could probably do it for level 3.
The problems are going to be Individual and Institutional IPS. These are questions that need a lot of practice with the entire "essay" question. I don't think a MC question bank will get you very close to what you will need here.
But as long as you get plenty of practice on the IPS from prior exams and mock exams, I don't see why not.
If you asked me this question at L1, I would have probably said no. But whatever works.
