I am consistently getting in the mid 60% on Schweser mock exams. I have been putting in hours and hours of studying and I cannot get my scores up. I am really only strong in ethics and everything else is mid 60s.

All my colleagues at work know I am writing the test and I don't want everyone at work to find out if I fail. isn't it better just to give up and not write the test rather than write it and have everyone find out??

I think i would rather be a quitter than a failure!

isnt it too late to officially withdraw?

anyways, what happens if you dont even show up to the exam, what does the record show? also, are the experience benefits of writing a cfa exam knowing you will fail, outweigh the cost of a failed cfa exam attempt on your record?

Maykig, I can totally understand your predicament.

I was in the same position before my L1 exam. Anyone and Everyone who knew me knew I was taking L1 exam. That can surely create lot of pressure on you.

But, think of it positively. That pressure to perform provides you motivation and helps you go on.

If you are doing good in Ethics and 60% in others, there are very good chances you will clear. So, DO NOT THINK OF QUITTING. I would not.

Also, looking at it thru another angle: Pass rate last time was 46%, which is almost 1 out of 2. With your results, you have a VERY GOOD chance of being THAT 1 person out of 2.

So, come on, just 3 more days and you sure can do it.

nuppal, you got like 4 days before the test, what in the world are you doing trolling the boards? turn the computer off and pound the Secret Sauce.

Don't give up this late in the game. Do practice questions like a beast. I've improved Qbank scores in 1 day on Asset Val, etc, by 10pts+ by doing 300 practice questions.

I took the exam and failed last year and I was in your situation but I made the top band. I only failed by a handful of points.

Do it for yourself...not for others. Education will be permanent in your life...not your co workers. Trust me, within a few weeks more than 50% of your colleagues will not even remember. It's not important for them....it's precious for you. Always believe in who you are ....not what others think who you are.
作者: agulani    时间: 2011-7-13 17:01

honestly, the pressure for this exam is mainly from

1. co-workers that know you are doing it and they passed already.. (possibly completing for a promotion opportunity?)
2. supervisor that completed the whole thing
3. friends that pass that gave you their notes
4. friend that got pissed at you because you disappeared from the social circle during weekends..

but look on the bright side, it's not that hard to let those thing goes..
bank more time from feb to june and nail it again. .tho ur co workers and frds might be doing lvl 2 while u r still doing lvl 1..

it sucks but tough luck..

gd luck man

Get your grind on and hit ethics and FSA, or if FSA seems alright or too much hit some of the ones that are easiest for you so you can pump those scores up.

I see a more serious problem in you rather than worrying about failing the exams.

Simple advice. Be a guy who is not afraid to face the music due to past consequence and improve it in the future. You will be applauded even if you fail.

Take the exam
作者: scr879    时间: 2011-7-13 17:01

take it, who knows what questions will show up on the exam. It may end up playing to your strengths. If your getting 60s you only need to get like 8 more questions right then you normally do.

Just skip the exam then if you are so afraid of failure. Many people do I heard, actually the number of people that show up in PM session is less than the AM

Wow is that really true? How much of a quitter do you have to be to give up mid test? You never know. I would NEVER not show up and take it. If nothing else you gain experience of test taking conditions and what the ACTUAL exam is like and not these mocks, schweser, stalla, allen, smith, jones, etc. or anything else.

As for worrying about people caring that you fail.......who cares. Most of them don't even have the guts to try.
As for the guys who passed and caring what they think....I bet they are like gamblers; they never tell you when they lose. I bet they all passed 3 levels within 18 months. Do it for yourself and your career or don't do it at all. Chances are you will be at a different job within a few years anyway, or they will.
