The unprecedented challenges confronting equity analysts in today’s market may lead some to conclude that even tried and true methods are obsolete. In equity analysis, however, progress often consists not of devising radically different techniques but of learning to apply familiar tools in new ways. The presentations in Practical Issues in Equity Analysis show that, with minor modifications or fresh insights, a familiar approach, such as discounted cashflow analysis, can become a valuable tool for analyzing the stocks of even the most cutting-edge companies. Selected from four different AIMR seminars, the presentations in this proceedings share a common focus on practical solutions to some of the most pressing problems that equity analysts face.
