What is the ratio is like, say 10 phone screens to 5 face interviews to 1 offer?

Is that about right?

I usually go with 100 call backs - 10 interviews - 1 offer

Phone close was pretty good for me, maybe like 10:7:1 or 2.

Now, app's to phone interviews would be pretty high - maybe 30:10 - but I applied blindly for a lot of good jobs and never heard back besides the flush...

100-200 resumes: 30 phone interviews: 10 first rounds: 2-3 final rounds: 1 offer

Job searches, applications, interviews, etc... are so incredibly random. I've had interviews with JPM, GS, and MS for virtually the same exact positions with lower tier/boutique firms for which I didn't even receive a courtesy email ding. Jobs are funny.

Luck is 50% of the battle. Maybe HR is an alum of your school, they're in a good mood one day, they share your passion for Jai alai, etc...

So true. I got nothing from local AM shops in ATL but got callbacks from bulge brackets and went several rounds in the following phone interviews.
