TARGET COMPANY is a steel making plant located in Belgium with very good access to transportation (train, road, and boats).
The plant is in standby since the end of 2008. Nonetheless it still employs around 1000 persons ;
The plant is still well maintained and the production can be restarted very easily ;
Its production costs are in line with the competitors in Belgium ;
Its blast furnace was refurbished in 2007, and its manufacturing plant is quite modern;
The plant’s maximum capacity is 2,000,000 Tons of slabs; If an electric arc furnace is used in production (there is currently none but its infrastructure is ready to install a new one), the plant can have 1 million tons of additional output and get a total output of 3 million tons.
Before the overproduction crisis in the steel sector, the market price for TARGET COMPANY would have be around US$ 2 billion. The value of the assets of TARGET COMPANY is around 700 million Euros. Now the asking price is only around 100 million Euro. The seller is open to negotiations and the plant could be bought for an even lower price.
