Optimally, the entire CFAI’s curriculum would be read, but if time were an issue (b/c it is) what are the LII topics that are least successfully substituted by schweser notes?
Ethics? Quant? What?作者: JPSem 时间: 2013-4-4 17:10
I would say Ethics, Active asset management in PM, currency swap in Derivatives and most of FI. Also beware there are sections that are missing entirely from SchweserNotes but are clearly marked at non-optional in CFAI text.
Simply put. SchweserNotes are created based on CFAI’s LOS. So if the LOS itself is ambiguous, SchweserNotes are GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out). e.g. last year there was a section in Econ that is marked as non-optional in CFAI text but it isn’t mentioned explicitly in LOS. So Schweser made the environmentally sound decision to save some trees and take away the relevant pages (which could be found in the previous year’s notes). (Thank God that topic wasn’t covered on the exam or a lot of us will still be doing facepalming now.)
