My fellow L3 friends: are you all reading all the optional segment? If I don’t read it, is it a risky strategy.

You may skip them because at the beginning of each CFAI Curriculum textbook, it specifically says you will NOT be tested on the Optional Segments, but that these may help your understanding of certain concepts.
