Happens to everyone. In my prep for all three exams, I would do a first pass through the material over a few months and when I went back to review, I wouldn't know what the heck I was looking at. That's why it's helpful to do problems (both CFAI and Schweser) the first time you go through, so when you review you can do them again. Repetition is the mother of learning.
I suggest that you avoid going through the curriculum again, page by page. You really should be spending time working problems and doing the practice exams. Do the exams under timed conditions so you get a sense of the pace you'll need on exam day. For L1 and L2, for which I only used Schweser, I would do four of the 3-hour sessions (i.e. the AM and PM portions of the first two Schweser practice exams) spaced out over two or three weeks, and then the weekend before the real thing, I'd do the full third practice exam just like it would be on test day (three hour sessions in morning and afternoon, starting at 9 am and 2 pm).
You will probably find the first three-hour practice exam difficult and scary, because you maybe haven't reviewed much. But do the best you can. After you're done with each of the exams, review the problems in detail and make a list of all the questions / LOS that you didn't fully understand (and bear in mind that getting a question correct doesn't mean you fully understand why it's correct). Then go back to that LOS in the CFAI / Schweser texts and review those sections and maybe do the related problems in the text again. Rinse and repeat for the other practice exams. |
