Band 6 June, Band 8 Dec........

so embarrsing to see 2 fails at level 1 - but i left the place thinking it was easier than any practice exam I took where i was averaging 65% on elan, cfaimock and schweser.... any 3rd timers out there that havent lost faith........

writing again in June.

i dont think u shd lose faith. it is all a question of getting 20 or so more questions right. that can happen if one's prep. is on borderline. just make sure you o one step ahead of band 10 next time! 100 hrs of extra prep. and question taking!

all the best!

I know all about that girl who lied on the resume.

If pasare here manages to barely squeeze by L1, but gets destroyed on level 2.
He could decide to come back to this thread and tell us he passed L3.. anonymous online forum, who would know?

I'm a L3 candidate working in finance, and 100% agree with this.

If you gave it your all, and L1 is still giving you so much trouble, you will never make it past L2

given enough devotion and time, everyone on this forum is capable of obtaining cfa charter. period.

apprec the feedback; kinda what i expected. to all the pessimists out there ive had a few colleguges who failed level 1 2x then passed level 2 first time around when ive seen the complete opposite from first time level 1 passers whom i work with who are now taking level 2 for the 3rd time. all in all its definitely possible. in my eyes, all dependent on the sample given on test day......

how can one fail at Band 8 - I thought Band 8 was a sure shot pass - with the top 30% candidates there.

Concur with previous post.
Either you find out what's wrong with your study method or you got a long bumpy road ahead of you.

I don't want to be critical, but if it takes you three legitimate tries to pass Level 1, the program may not be for you. I say this because Level II and Level III are much more difficult and you could spend an extraordinary amount fo time for not much reward. There are more important things in this world than the CFA. Now, if you goofed off the first couple of times and didn't really try that hard then fine, take it a third time, but if you seriously tried hard both times and failed Level 1 it may be time to reassess things.
