Imp ques.Please help ppl.

I am a gradute, currently working in a IT firm. It is january already and now I have started prepration for june CFA. Please guide me that if I start with my course now, will I be able to give June-2013 ?? Is there enough time for prepration ?? How many hours a day is required for the prepration ?? And I have like no prior knowledge of the course as I am not from a financial background.

Anything is possible. It all depends on your schedule and how quickly you pick things up. Ask yourself 3 questions: 1. Can I study 300 hours by the end of May? 2. How easily can I pick up the concepts and retain the material? 3. Is it necessary to take the June test or can I wait until December?

Possible…yes.  Not coming from a financial background (maybe you took a few extra finance classes in college?) might hinder your ability to pass given a compressed study schedule.  But, if any level can be done on a compressed schedule such as yours, Level I is the one to try.  Good luck with your decision.

Yes, there’s plenty of time.  That is, if you stick to a schedule and put in the necessary hours each day, which is easier said than done, especially since you work full time.  CFA Institute recommends 300 hours to prep, and with 144 days till the exam that’s just over 2 hours per day.  Since you have no prior knowledge, you might need to do 400, even 500 hours, who knows.  It’s different for everyone.
