Now that you have written the CFA Level III exam and are awaiting your exam result in August, it’s a great time to complete your application for membership with CFA Institute and a local member society. Regular membership is required for award of the CFA charter.

2012年第一次参加CFA L3 的时候，没有收到过这个邮件，那年FAIL了。 2013年似乎有人收到过，但是的确与PASS/FAIL没有直接关系好想，2013年也许多人讨论这个事的。

CFA 的官方回复。

“This message was sent to individuals who were schedule to sit for the Level III exam in June but who have not yet completed a membership application; part of the regular membership requirement for the eventual award of the CFA charter. Those who have already applied and have been approved for regular membership were not included in this communication. Please let us know if we can further assist. ”  

Membership 分为 三个级别层次 ：1） CFA Charterholder Membership , 2）Regular Membership (只要通过了CFA L1考试，积累4年工作经验，有2个Sponsor即可申请， 并非需要通过三个级别考试才能申请 regular membership .  但是这是通过三级考试，并且在申请第一梯次的 CFA  Charterholder Membership时候的必要非充分条件 .   申请审核本身应该是免费的， 激活后并需要缴费，无论你是否通过三级，只是一个社团组织成员的概念。 275美金每年。  3) Affiliate Membership （ 不准备考CFA 任何一个级别考试的投资界人士， 只是想参加CFA 协会活动，年费比regular member低，100美金每年。

楼主你想多了。去年我也有收到，failed anyway。
今年我同样收到了

我后来回头想了想，也感觉应该不是只发给通过的，要不然CFA的工作量也太大了，而且八月份公布成绩也没有必要了。。。。。
不过，等到八月十二号成绩出来了我还是再来验证一下~~~~~~

我是第一次考，但十分没把握。估计所有考生都会收到该邮件的吧？

CFAI就是一个黑社会社团
他们的邮件翻译成大白话就是：
你已经通过了砍人第三级，也就是最后一个级别的考试。何必等考试成绩呢。直接现在申请加入帮会吧。申请以后审批流程要8周呢。

现在因为不知道成绩，所以现在申请加入帮会审批会比较快。而且等你三级考试成绩出来以后，马上就可以在名片上印CFA三个字母了。
如果等知道成绩在申请，那时候大家都申请了，要排队很久。
