Are they effective enough to allow me to pass just by studying SchweserNotes?

Look into elan guides.They have an interesting package for June. I am big fan of their samples and the 11th Hour bk

Seems to hold true for most people. I happen to use Stalla guides with the videos. I think the videos are essential to develop understanding of the material. Then again, everyone is different so you have to decide what works best for you and how much money you want to spend.

yea it is effective enough to pass just by going through schweser because
its all the CFAI material written in easy to understand lang…and appealing enough to read
not very time consuming..
very good for practice
though people do refer to the CFAI books for the ethics portion…the more the practice in ethics the better…
