Ethics is still the deciding Factor

I was supposed to pass this exam .
Inspite of scoring 70 on heavy weights Equity , FRA & Corp Finance i’m shocked to see the result.
Failed : Band 10
I dont bieleve this!! Ethics can ruin me so badly.

You may actually be right although It’s difficult to know exactly how they weigh ethics up.  You should try compare your results to those who also did badly in Ethics and well in other areas.

i remember reading somewhere CFAI looks at total score and incase of equal scores, ethics is the deciding factor… in your case it might have happened that you were in lower 70s for 70% cases

Sorry for your fizzler.
A friend of mine has
a) Ethics greater than 70
b) AI
c) Everything else 50-70 range..
And he has got a Band 3. The point we are missing is the fact that 50-70 is a long range and that if he had more scores greater than 60+ he would have obviously cleared.
So there is a MPS, if you dont cross it and just there about then your Ethics score pushes you up, is what I would like to think. Yeah, but Ethics does weigh more than the 15% is a fair assumption!

failed Band 10 too b/c of ethics. If I nailed 2-3 questions more on ethics, I would of passed (my guess). I just can’t believe I failed ethics out of all sections. So depressed…

Passed.  This is my 2nd time sitting for the Level II Exam.  The first time was in 2009.  I don’t remember exactly but I think I received something like a Band 6.  I was definitely more prepared this time around.  I focused almost exclusively on practice/mock exams for the last 2-3 weeks.  I used Schweser study materials to prepare.  After reading some posts about Level III prep, I think I will be using CFAI study materials.

wow .. that’s 55% of exam scored over 70 …  got to be something with ethics.  I’m guessing there is certain low score in eithics that they’ll not  have you passed.
Defintely seems Ethics is defintely treated differntly then other areas.
