IPS Return - anyone get this correct? allocation, something, question

Does anyone get the IPS return calculations correct to the dollar?
I did Schweser Exam 1 and the CFAI 2006 exam and in both cases I missed something that put off the return calculation.
In Schweser I missed that the salary was pretax. In the CFA 2006 exam missed the return from the Equity portfolio in the current year.
Do you guys get the return close to the solution? How much of partial credit does one get? Of course if the return calculation is way off then the asset allocation question is off too, that’s a double whammy!

Yeah, I was wondering what credit I would get for being close. I didn’t do it exactly the way CFAI did and I got 8.5%. Wonder if that would fly. It will hurt us when you have to then pick portfolios with the proper minimum return and you have the wrong required return.

My goal is to get as much partial credit as possible in this. It is really time consuming and the answer is always wrong!

If you get this wrong, then how do you get the asset allocation-which depends on RR right?
