For Level 1 Candidates

I felt that I should post these points regarding my preparation; I hope that u may benefit from it:

1-I started in mid Jan, 400 hrs out of which 200 for solving, 100 for reading and making notes, 100 for watching videos....
2-If u are committed, feel desperate enough to get this charter, make all the effort u can, sure u will pass, no shortcuts.
3-Be smart don’t try to do what exceeds your capabilities, if u you feel that u need rest, go and take it. actually I almost wasted like 3 weeks just because I wasn’t in a good mood to study ,but any way I did have to compensate for this lost 3 weeks by studying for an average of 7 Hrs per day in the last three weeks .
4-Solve ,Solve ,Solve ,Solve ,Solve ,Solve ,Solve ,Solve ,Solve ,Solve ,.....I solved 6000 MCQ ,14 Sample exam ,.......
5-Take full advantage of this forum, especially in the last month, people are helpful some of them post questions (Damil4real) , some post shots of motivation (Cfatown and others discuss .......
6-Dont let boring subjects (like Economics) blow your way, actually I went into the exam with 50 % of the economics not studied. (I do not ADVICE U TO DO THAT)
7-Failling to exceed 70% in FSA will make your probability of passing lower, believe me FSA is not that hard just solveeeee.
8-Always remember u need to get 70 %, i.e. if your are not grasp the Taxes part, dont worry not a big deallll.
Nine-for the Ethics part, read understand then read then solve, solve, solve ...you will never be able to memorize....
10-Formulas are not for memorizations, just understand and solver over and over.
11-I kept a routine of taking 1 day off every week...
12-If u are overconfident that u will pass, then probably u will fail.
13-Belive me this was a great experience, even if u fail in the first attempt at least u tried, still were brave enough to try ...
14-I believe that my success was a result of my commitment , my wife’s help and patience , my friends wishes , my parents prayers and all AF members that either motivated or helped me when I needed

By way sorry for the terrible English but I hope u will understand….

parac0da, thank you for sharing you plan of study/approach.

You mentioned that you completed 14 sample exams. Other than than the Schweser ones, could I ask which were the others you utilized?

Thanks.

When I was preparing for LI, I was glad that I could find blogs and forums where people shared their experience. I took over a lot.

I saw couple of them and they are rather similar to parac0da's. I would add, if you dont mind, one point:
Make a study plan.

And I agree, that solving questions and problems is the way how to learn this all, reading twice or three times helps but questions are the key.

QUESTIONS ARE THE KEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO EVERY SINGLE CFAI question in the back of the texts, and hit QBANK like you would a line of columbia's finest! QBANK is your J-O-B during studying.
