Vignette Structure

How are the vignette's structured for Level 2? for example, is the information required for question 1 in the first part of the vignette? then after that section, the information for question 2, then question 3, and so on?

Or is the information for each question spread throughout the entire vignette with no organization related to the questions?

A good way to tackle this type of structure would be to read the question stems first to understand what is being asked. Then, read the vignettes and parse through the information directly related to answering the question.

I see I see. So keep doing questions and all of the mocks, and samples, etc. etc. etc. Cool

yup no substitute for experience...

Very rarely, CFAI will put the needed information throughout the question in order to trick you. So, most questions 1 through 6 will follow a natural order, but sometimes a small detail needed to answer question 2 or 3 could be embedded in a portion that deals directly with question 6. the best way to understand this is by doing all the end of chapter vignettes in the CFAI curriculum.

i actually just read the entire vignette and then moved onto the questions. i found it to be the most efficient way. especially since you will see some questions (simple calculation/involving definition) that you can knock out quickly before tackling the more challenging/involved one.

in the test and practice i always finished with atleast one hour to spare, so have time to review as well.

but just cause it worked for me doesn't make it the best way. the CFAI EOC questions have some vignette form questions, so test out strategies while working through those.

So the best way to tackle these will be to read questions 1 and maybe 2, then read the vignette?

Usually yes, but sometimes no.

Sometimes you can clearly section out certain portions of the vignette to answer a particular question..but don't take it for granted..tricks and traps abound...I think for quantitative methods, the association is particulalry straightforward
