i am outside the US. how did i get a job in finance with no experience? Luck. I had managed several small IT companies in the past and the job i have is managing two tiny subsidiaries of the bank. they wanted someone who could manage the companies, do budgets, work without much supervision, deal with regulators etc. which is all stuff i had done previously. they figured i could learn the content on the job. The CFA is my way of learning the content as is part of my annual review (thank god i passed)
