D&O underwriting IS considered relevant experience. Many moons ago I worked in that industry and there were several CFA Charterholders who were also underwriters.
Not sure about reinsurance, depends on what you actually did. I'm sure there are roles in the reinsurance area that would qualify since it's risk management (on the underwriting side).
