讨论一下这道“道德”题

Book1 page47

13. Connie Fletcher, CFA, works for a small money management firm that specializes in pension account. Recently, a friend asked her to act as an unpaid volunteer manager for the city's street sweep pension fund. As part of the position, the city would grant Fletcher a free parking space in front of her downtown office. Fletcher is considering the offer. Before she accepts she should:

A, do nothing since this is a volunteer position

B, inform her current clients in writing and discuss the offer with her employer

C, inform her current clients in writing, get their permission, and discuss the offer with her employer

D, disclose the details of the volunteer position to her employer and obtain written permission from her employer

She has only one employer, but she may have 1000 clients. It is more reasonable for her to report to her employer rather than her clients.
D is the best answer. B can be right, but not the best one.

She has no obligation to disclose these information to her clients. Her sole responsibility of disclosing these potential conflict of interest is ONLY to her supervisor or employer.
