hOW TO SET UP ROUNDING ON hp 12C CALCULATOR? periods, anybody, fashion, displays

When I am trying to solve for the number of periods by pressing "n" it will round up to
2years when it is 1.6 years or 10 when it is 9.9 years.
Does anybody know how to set this up so that it displays in a more accurate fashion?

hit the orange F key, then the number of places you want to be shown after the decimal. So "f" "9" will give you 9 places after the decimal.
