Level 3 registered

Just registered for Level 3 for June 2011. I passed Level 1 in Dec. 2008 and Level 2 in June 2009 but took a year off to get my life back together (spent more time with my gf). I proposed to her in November of last year and we're getting married this November.

I'll probably start studying for Level 3 in Feb. 2011, I'm looking forward to it since I haven't studied for a test in awhile.

Good luck to everyone getting their scores soon! That's always the fun part. . .after you have taken the exam and you're just waiting for your score.

Good luck SBU. I hope we dont have to converse on this board again come Aug XX.

Congrats on the proposal and upcoming marriage!

Personally, I would start before February, in fact I started softly in October/November last year, and I'm pretty sure I smoked that exam.

( I know many say you will "forget everything" if you start too early - but believe it or not, I still recall my multiplication tables from grade school.)

Haha,

I actually started studying for Level 2 in Feb and worked 70 hours week. I've since quit the Big 4 firm and now work at a smaller company where I'll be working 45 hours max a week, that's why I'm comfortable starting a little later.

I don't think you forget anything, it's just I don't want to burn myself out (I want to focus on my marriage and future wife, which is more important thatn the CFA exams). I still remember a lot of the info from Level 1 and 2 so I'm not too worried about forgetting things. I read finance books on my own anyway, so it's not like something totally different.

Anyway, thanks for the advice Chi Paul!

Funny, for me it was because I had to do L2 in 4 months, which I found miserable, that I decided to start early for L3. But obviously, you know what you are getting into so do what is best for yourself.

Good luck, it is a totally different exam than L2. Also more enjoyable material in my opinion.
