local chapter question question

I dont expect to be living where I do currently for much longer than a year. Does it matter which local chapter I join when I become a member? Can I change it easily enough once I'm a member?

I was thinking of asking someone back home to vouch for me, as I don't know any CFA charterholders here in India.

I mean you should be able to change local chapters. At least I have heard other people being able to do this very same thing.

I moved from NYC chapter to Boston chapter without any problems.
