CMA官方对中国考生反对引入中文版本考试的回信 Mvlen Yao: Thank you for your e-mail and I appreciate your concern about the integrity of the CMA credential.
Thank you for your e-mail and I appreciate your concern about the integrity of the CMA credential. The ICMA Board of Regents did decide to offer a Chinese version of the CMA exam beginning in June of 2007. We will continue to offer the English version of the CMA in China as well. The certificate issued will indicate which version was taken.

I can understand your concern that the exam might seem easier, but I assure you that we will maintain the same high standards for the profession of management accounting and we will not certify anyone who does not meet those standards. Of course, it will be easier to understand for a Chinese management accountant who is not proficient in English. But the CMA program is not – and should not be – a test of the English language. We are certifying competence in management accounting, no matter what the language might be. In addition, the goal of the IMA is to create a community of management accountants worldwide to advance the profession, and not all management accountants speak and read English.
I also can understand that passing a rigorous exam such as the CMA in English when you are not a native speaker is a superior accomplishment. In addition, having passed the English version of the CMA exam is a major advantage for someone pursuing a career with a U.S. multinational company based in China. That’s why we will continue to offer the exam in English.
The IMA and the ICMA Board of Regents are committed to the integrity of the CMA program. Our exams will continue to be rigorous yet fair. The growth of the CMA program around the world will benefit all CMAs – it will increase our perceived value and our influence on the profession.
I encourage you to continue your studies and your pursuit of the CMA. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
Regards, Dennis Whitney
